2021 Holiday Gift Guide: Amazon Gift Ideas for Adventure Lovers

First of all, I can’t believe it’s already December! The holidays are just around the corner. I’m a hardcore procrastinator when it comes to holiday shopping (thank goodness for Amazon Prime), but I’m trying to be proactive this year.

If you have a friend or family member who enjoys hiking and the outdoors, you might need some inspiration when it comes to gift ideas. In this guide, you’ll find 30 gifts for adventure lovers that you can snag on Amazon.

Ultimately, outdoor lovers value utility and durability. I kept that in mind when making this list and tried to include a little bit of everything from stocking stuffers to gifts that are more of a splurge. I had so much fun putting this guide together and hope it comes in handy!

Gifts for Adventure Lovers – 2021 Edition

Outdoorsy Gifts for Adventure Lovers: Women

Kari Traa Base Layers

I would not survive hiking during wintertime without base layers from Kari Traa. I was a little apprehensive about wool base layers at first, because I don’t particularly like the feeling of wool against my skin. This base layer top is 100% merino wool. Merino wool has the same great features as regular wool but is thinner and softer. Comfortable and moisture wicking is a win-win in my book! Plus, their base layers come in SO many cute colors and patterns.

Danner Mountain 600 Hiking Boot

These Danner Mountain 600 hiking boot has been on my wish list for AGES, but I never pulled the trigger because they’re pretty pricey. I finally caught them on sale this year, and I’m so excited! I haven’t hiked in them yet but will update y’all on my thoughts. Be on the lookout for a review blog post in the coming weeks!

Smartwool Classic Hike Full Cushion Crew Sock

These Smartwool socks are a blend – 56% Merino Wool, 11% Nylon, 31% Recycled Nylon, 2% Elastane. The merino wool keeps your feet dry and warm while the full cushioning adds comfort and additional warmth.

Out of all the possible gifts for adventure lovers, I feel like high-quality socks are an absolute must and worth the investment!

C.C Cable Knit Beanie

They might be “basic”, but I stan these beanies. I have accumulated three different colors now and will probably continue to buy more. They’re cute, but the BEST part is that they’re fleece-lined on the inside. I find that the wind cuts right through most beanies on winter hikes, but not these!

Osprey Packs Sirrus 24L Backpack

I can’t say enough good things about this 24L Osprey pack. I was using a 40L pack for day hikes, but I decided to switch to this one. With all of its pockets and compartments, it has plenty of room for everything I carry for day hikes.

My favorite thing about it is that it’s so comfortable to wear. The breathable mesh back panel is a complete gamechanger. Additionally, this pack features an internal hydration sleeve and exit port – perfect for an Osprey Hydraulics Reservoir.

Yogalicious Leggings

I’m a die-hard leggings fan when it comes to hiking. You can get super high-end leggings, but I don’t think that’s necessary. I wear these Yogalicious leggings year-round! The fact that they’re right around $20 is amazing. I find that they fit TTS. They’re so comfortable and the perfect thickness. If it’s cold, I wear my Kari Traa bottoms underneath.

Teva Ankle-Strap Sandal

Shoes like these Teva sandals are great for summer hiking, especially when water is involved. They’re small and light enough that they can easily be tucked into a pack!

Columbia Fire Side II Sherpa

When I saw this Columbia fleece on sale a few months ago, I had to grab it! I almost didn’t, because I couldn’t decide if I really *needed* another fleece. I’m really glad I did! It’s such a good jacket for the price, and I’ve been wearing it on hikes now that the weather has cooled off.

Carhartt Legacy Hybrid Convertible Backpack

I purchased this Carhartt bag not knowing how I’d feel about it and figured I’d probably end up returning it. WRONG! I fell in love with this multi-use bag and carry it all the time now!

I love that it has a designated laptop pocket on the inside along with several other pockets and compartments. The mini front pocket is perfect for small devices – I use it for my AirPods and SD card reader.

Osprey Packs Stratos 24L Backpack

The Osprey 24L Stratos pack is essentially the men’s version of the 24L Sirrus pack I mentioned in the women’s section. Like I said there, the back ventilation on this pack is unbeatable. It’s extremely comfortable to carry and has lots of pockets/compartments. Additionally, this pack features an internal hydration sleeve and exit port – perfect for an Osprey Hydraulics Reservoir.

UGG Neumel Boot

Who doesn’t love feeling like they’re walking on a cloud? If you know an adventure lover, chances are they’re on their feet A LOT. They’d definitely appreciate a pair of cozy lounge shoes. The women’s version is on my Christmas list! P.S. – Double-check sizing as these tend to run small.

Danner Mountain 600 Hiking Boot

I had to include the men’s version of the Danner Mountain 600 hiking boot on this list. They’re waterproof and the Vibram soles offer excellent grip and traction. If you know a hiking lover who’s in the market for a new pair of boots, these Danner boots would be an amazing gift that they’ll use for years to come!

Osprey Hydraulics LT Reservoir

I do still carry a Hydro Flask water bottle with me on hikes, but it’s nice to have an additional water source that fits right in my pack! I have the 1.5L Osprey Hydraulics Reservoir and it fits perfectly in my 24L Osprey Sirrus pack.

Katadyn BeFree Water Filter

I recently purchased the Katadyn BeFree Water Filter for backpacking. I haven’t used it yet, but I still wanted to include it on this list since it’s such a neat product! This bottle can filter up to 2 liters of water per minute. The fact that it’s collapsible is one of my favorite features.

Hydro Flask Water Bottle

It took me awhile to join the Hydro Flask club (they’re not cheap water bottles by any means), but I’m glad I did! They’re extremely durable and the insulation is no joke. I carry the 32oz bottle when hiking!

OCOOPA Rechargeable Hand Warmers

If you know someone who spends a good bit of time outside when it’s cold (whether that’s hiking, dog walking, etc.), they’d probably love these rechargeable hand warmers! They are sold individually, so you’ll have to purchase two if you want to gift a hand warmer for both pockets.

TrailBuddy Collapsible Hiking Poles

Trekking poles are a great gift for a hiking lover. They’re super helpful when navigating uneven terrain as they enhance stability. You can spend a lot of money on trekking poles, but I find that this particular pair gets the job done just fine!

Wise Owl Outfitters Camping Blanket

This insulted blanket weighs just 1.8lbs. It’s not for extremely cold weather, but ensures warmth down to 40 degrees. This blanket is great for traveling in general. It can be packed for a trip to avoiding getting cold while sleeping or thrown in a carry-on for a flight!

Fjallraven Kanken Hip Pack

Even though I always carry a day pack when hiking, I like to carry a fanny pack for certain items such as my pepper spray, phone, keys, and maybe a snack or two. This Fjallraven Kankan pack is perfect for just that. It’s water-resistant, durable, and would make a great gift for a traveler or adventure lover who is all about convenience.
